The AMVCA’s which held over the weekend have been the talk
of the town all week. From Outfit choices to award winners and various
performances, the Blogs, Papers and Magazines have
provided an in-depth analysis of the event.
I was unable to attend the AMVCA’S as I was out of town on
Saturday. However, I stopped by Eko Signature a couple of days before the event and I had an Amazing dining experience at 1415 restaurant.
I went with my friend Ify (from this post) as our friend, Shaana's sister was in town from Tanzania and she wanted Italian Cuisine. We chose 1415 as it was pretty late and we wanted somewhere that was close to her hotel. It’s pronounced “Fourteen-Fifteen” not “One-Four-One-Five”.
A basket of warm complimentary rolls were brought to our
table, once we ordered, with a delicious parsley filled butter.
The staff were polite, courteous and extremely attentive. The music was at the perfect volume, I felt like I was in the UK or the States. Two people were celebrating their birthdays that night and the waiters and Chef came out from the Kitchen singing Happy Birthday with Cake and Sparklers. It was really sweet to experience.
Liz, Shaana's sister, got Minestrone soup which came with croutons. The only soup
I like is Chicken Sweetcorn soup from Chinese Restaurants and Nigerian Pepper
soup but she really enjoyed it.
She ordered Lasagne for her main, I really Love Food Photography.
The portions looked small at first but when we started digging in, we realised that we were mistaken, probably because the plates were pretty large.
The Carbonara was priced really reasonably, (same as Orela) especially considering the fact that 1415 is a posh, upscale restaurant. I am not a huge fan of Cheese but I found it delicious. Ify couldn’t finish it so she packed half of it in a takeaway pack which she forgot in my car, Yayy me! I got 2 meals for the price of one, I had it for brunch the next day.
I got the Linguine Fisherman which wasn’t cheap, N6,800, It comes with Lobster and Clams but they added prawns to mine because I’m special J
I enjoyed my meal there and we took a walk to the Poolside afterwards, the sea breeze is so nice. Have you ever eaten at Eko Hotel before? How did you find it?
