Tuke's Trips: Omu Resort Lagos
Hey Guys,
Happy Hump Day!
My Birthday is exactly one week away but I don't plan to celebrate it in any huge way. Want to read about how I celebrated it in previous years, read about it here and here.
I visited Omu Resort during the Worker's Day Long weekend, a day after I went to Tarkwa Bay.

Tuke's Trips: Tarkwa Bay Lagos
Hey Guys,
So I finally visited Tarkwa Bay this month as my family friend planned a last minute trip to Tarkwa Bay for his birthday.
His birthday happened a couple of weeks after I left a comment on Cassie's post saying I wanted to go there.

Tuke's Trips: The China Series has begun
Hey Guys,
Happy Monday!
Hope you had a great weekend.
Mine was enlightening and filled with surprises. A surprise Bridal Shower, A surprise Send Off Party and I got a New & Better Smartphone as a surprise from my Dad. Someone gave it to him sometime last month and I was jubilating that it will mine but he said he wants it. I was looking through Kitchen Butterfly's Instagram page at 3am on Sunday morning and was impressed when she said she uses her phone for all her pictures. I was thinking to myself, choi, this is the same phone my dad has chilling in his cupboard. I fell asleep and got woken up by the phone, isn't that a Great Testimony :)

Tuke's Trips: Road to China via Amsterdam
Hey Guys,
Happy Monday :)
So I've mentioned so many times on the blog that I will write about China but after the comments on this post, I decided to start the series this month.
I went to China in the Summer of 2012 and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Prior to that the only countries I had visited were the UK, Ghana, America and Canada. The most adventurous thing I had done was the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme where I climbed hills, walked 20 km's each day, slept in tents, didn't shower, drank water from a stream, etc. D of E was tougher but going to China was another level of adventure.
I was really scared to go. I remember the night before I left Nottingham to go to the airport, I was having second thoughts. I was nervous, I was scared but deep deep deep down I was excited. I was packing with my friend, Ife & he said if God didn't want me to go or if he thought I would be harmed in any way, I wouldn't have gotten the scholarship. That sort of calmed me down and I left Nottingham feeling a bit better.

Happy Monday :)

Restaurant Review: Jevenik, Secret Garden & Sheraton Abuja
Hey Guys,
Like I mentioned in this post, I was in Abuja for the ICAN conference at the beginning of the month. On the first Night, we had dinner at Jevenik. I have eaten at the one in Lagos once before but it was my Dad's first time there.

Weekend Gist & Tuke's Trips: Sheraton Hotel, Abuja
Hey Guys :)
Happy Monday!
Hope you had a Great Weekend. Mine was busy, it was Saxophone filled. The whole of last week was Sax filled tbh. I played with the Jazz Band at Muson on Thursday after attending a Jazz Master class for most of last week. It was actually featured on BBC, I never expected it, I saw the BBC guy interviewing people but I didn't think much of it, listen to the interviews and some of the music here. Can you spot me in the picture below? I put up a cover of Adele's Someone like you that was recorded during one of our lunch breaks, Check it out here.

Tuke's Trips: Ilesa, Erin-Oke & Zenababs Resort
Hey Guys,
It's been a while since my last Travel post, hasn't it. I still owe you posts on China, Uganda and Disney Land too. Soon come, they will be up before the year ends.
The only other places I've been to this year are Ijebu-Oru and Ibadan. Isn't it funny how all three places start with the same sound. Maybe my next trip will be to Egypt or India or Indonesia or Illinois.
Random info, Literature in English was one of my favourite subjects in Secondary School. I loved Geography, Mathematics and Biology too. Wonder why I studied Economics sha. I mentioned this because I really like playing The Rhyme Game, "Name Animal Place Thing" and Concentration.

Tuke's Trips: Food in Orlando
I like food I really do, I had 7 pieces of Chicken for dinner tonight, it was my Dad's birthday yesterday so it's allowed. I tried skipping at some point today as my producer said it'll help with breath control. The most I could do without stopping was 13, poor right? That number will be different at the end of next month, I promise.
So Leeznijis commented on the previous post and said she wanted the food in Orlando post next. Sogie said she wanted the Disney one so that will go up on Thursday :)
I have soooo many food pictures on my laptop it's ridiculous, it's nice to see how my photography game has improved over the years. These pictures were taken in 2012, Thank God for Technology. The Bulk of them were taken at a Japanese restaurant called Kobe. Read about my experience at a Japanese restaurant in Lagos on the Fayrouz blog.

Tuke's Trips: Orlando
Hey Guys!
I'm glad that some of you expressed interest in the "Tuke'sTrips" segment. It will be located in the Travel Section which can be found under the Categories Tab in the Side Bar. I'm trying to make the blog more organised and user friendly, hope you appreciate my efforts :)
So, what actually sparked the desire to start this was a conversation with my little brother last week. He turned 7 on the 22nd and we were going through old pictures on my laptop. We went into the Disney World File and I was so shocked that he remembered particular things we did on that day at Disney, he was only 4.
I'm starting with a general post on Orlando and then I'll move on to the Disney one...Enjoy the Ride!
We arrived in Orlando and I was very tired as I had literally just gotten back from China. We stepped out of the airport and saw a Taxi with our Surname on it which was a very nice welcome to the States.

Introducing Tuke's Trips
Hey Guys
I don't know if you know this but I enjoy travelling. I am privileged to have visited a few countries in my short lifetime and I hope you enjoy reading about my experiences. I actually bought my Nikon D3100 in June 2012 because I was travelling to China that Summer and I wanted to document my time there with good quality images. I didn't know much about photography at that time so I shot in auto for the most part.
The summer of 2012 was a very interesting one as I went to 4 continents in a span of about 6 weeks. I was in school in England, I got a scholarship to visit my University's campus in China for a 2 week Summer School, I went to America with my family on holiday and then I came back to my country Nigeria for Summer job.
I took A LOT of pictures on these trips and I'm finally ready to share them on this platform.
Hope you enjoy this segment :)
P.S. One thing I've learnt in life is that if you show people what you are capable of doing, the kind of work you can produce, you would eventually be paid by someone who appreciates the service you willingly provided for free. Just keep doing you because you never know who is watching.
Like Bankole Williams says, God's greatest desire is for you to charge a fee doing that which you would usually do for free.

Weekend Recap: Ijebu
Hey Guys, Happy Monday!
Trust you had a restful weekend. Did you vote? How was the situation in your area? It was very calm at most polling units in my estate. I wasn't able to register in December but I went to see and observe the situation with my parents. May the best man win!
I didn't get up to much this weekend but I'll gist you about the weekend before. I went to Ijebu Oru for the first time. It was a Family friend's Grandpa's funeral so we went for a couple of hours. It was a short day trip, I really want to explore the different parts of Nigeria.
P.s. If you haven't voted for Tuke's Quest to win Best Lifestyle Blog in the Nigerian Blog Awards, please do so here. My single is now available on Itunes, cdbaby and at Laterna Ventures so listen to it and let me know what you think. Please spread the word about it too, I feel like my friends and readers haven't really supported or helped with publicity, I would appreciate it if you repost the album art on your social media platforms/blogs.
