Hey Guys,
Hope your week is going well :)
I know I've been MIA but you will find out why in due course.
I crossed my Grade 6 music exam off my goals list at the beginning of last week so I'm really happy about that. How are you doing with your 2016 goals?
I did Ghana weaving a couple of weeks ago, check out the post here. It lasted for about 10 days and then I took it off because I wanted to rock my kinky Her Given Hair to a wedding, Brand consistency. It was pretty rough too.
Didi is like inverted weaving and people say that didi helps your grow faster, any testifiers.
This picture of Toolz served as a guide for my hairdresser. I find it interesting how the small cornrow joins the big one at the back.
It cost N3,000 for home service and took less than an hour. My mum's hairdresser did it this time around and she was way faster than the lady who did this one.
Which one do you prefer? Ghana Weaving or Ghana Didi?
Have you tried Ghana Didi before?
How long does your Ghana weaving normally last for?
P.S. Check out Natural Girl on a Budget's post on Haircare tips for Ghana Braids.
Never tried Didi Ghana weaving! I'll probably give it a shot. You're right. My ghana weaving (big cornrows) last for 10 days but I often push it to two weeks.

Awww, Thank you Linda :)
DeleteI have tried both before and I prefer Ghana Didi because my edges are fragile and they help keep me edges secure compared to Ghana weaving and it lasted for like 3 weeks till my mum forced me to loosen it.
ReplyDeleteOh okay, I didn't notice how secure my edges were but mine only lasted for a week.
DeleteYou must have taken really good care of your hair for it to have lasted for 3 weeks.
I think didi looks good on you. I've never really been a fan of it though as it makes my already round face, rounder. Which is why I prefer Ghana weaving but you rocked it either way.

Awwww, Thank you! I think the parting you do affects the face shape more sha.
DeleteI think Ghana didi is great, have made both(ghana weaving and didi) before but Ghana didi made my hair grow longer and fuller, so I prefer Ghana didi. It really looks great on u.
ReplyDeleteNice, I don't think my hair grew longer or fuller when I did it. But anytime my sister does didi when she is rocking a wig her hair growssss.
DeleteEveryone's hair grows at different rates sha, Thank you!
I prefer Ghana Didi ..it's lovely and neat. .my weaving is Max of two weeks.. I think Didi is cool and different from regular weaves, it gives a definition to one's face the bigger the more defined it gets.. Welcome back Mia solider

DeleteYeah, it doesn't seem to last that long, Single Box Braids last for wayy longer.
It looks really lovely. I should try this...
ReplyDeleteYou should, maybe your own will last longer than mine!
DeleteI love this hairstyle! It looks really good on you :)
ReplyDeleteOyime's Musings

DeleteLove the cornrows on you. So much.
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get them done?
Did you need to blow your hair out?
Thank you, I got them done at home.
DeleteI didn't blow my hair out for this one but I did for the Ghana weaving
I LOVE the hairstyle on you! I've seen it going around on Nigerian snapchatters. I've wanted to do cornrows for the longest time, but at the end of the day, I forget about them. Maybe I can have my cousin do them soon.

Awwww, Thanks Berry!
DeletePlease who are the Nigerian Snapchatters, hehe.
You should try it, even if it's just to see how the hair looks on you.
I prefer Ghana didi. Some people call the style rice and beans(lol).
ReplyDeleteLoool, I knew there had to be a funny name for it.
DeleteI actually just took out something similar. Not Didi though, and my mum made it for me lol. I'm not really a fan of didi, i'm not sure why.

That's nice!!!
DeleteThank you :)
It looks so good on you, and really smooth. Amazing that you didn't have to do a blow-out for it.
ReplyDeleteAwwww, Thank you Sandra :D
DeleteYay, congrats on crossing off something from your list of goals, I'm still struggling with mine a bit. The didi looks beautiful and it really suits you. I really want to do this but I'm scared it'll be bad for my edges, any tips? xx

Thank you Demilade :)
DeleteI feel you on that struggle, sometimes you just have to take out time to look over the goals, analyse them, determine how long it will take to achieve them and make plans (small steps) to help you cross them off.
Make sure the hairdresser doesn't pull too tight.
Also, don't keep it in for too long, a good average is 2 weeks.
The hair looks nice on you, i will probably give it a try once i take out my braids.
ReplyDeleteThank you Abimbola!
DeleteTag me in a picture of it when you get it done o!
Tuke i miss reading your blogposts. You've been MIA for too loooong
