What You Can Do This Weekend!!!

Thank God it's Friday!!!!

My School's on Mid-Term
I'm going to Sleeeeep :D
And it's my Birthdayyy
In Niiine Days,
Yayyy Me!!!

I actually sang that while typing it up, i'm pretty excited for the days ahead!!

Tomorrow, the 24th of May, The Voice Seminar 2.0 is happening at The Jobmag Centre, 254 Herbert Macaulay way Yaba and it's organised by one of Nigeria's foremost Voice-Over Artists. I met her in October last year while interning at an Ad Agency, she was the voice for an MTN Ad and boy, was she Hilarious.

Earlier on that day, I remember sorting out the invoices and one of my ogas was like, "Who be this Chioma girl sef, is it only  her voice we dey use ?". Every other invoice had her name on it and I understand why, she has done VO's for many multinationals such as Nestle, Stanbic IBTC, GT Assure, Dettol and her impressions of various accents are spot on.
The aim of the workshop is to improve our eloquence, self esteem and carriage and it would be extremely beneficial for anyone who wants to be an Actor, MC, TV Host/Presenter, On-Air Personality, Speaker or even if you just want to improve your Public Speaking/Presentation skills.

The speakers/trainers for the day are Sulai Aledeh (Channels TV), Onimisi Adaba-OJ (Cool FM, Wazobia FM, Nigeria Info FM), Ben Ogbeiwi (Project Fame), Kamal Salau (Pro Emcees Academy) and Adeola (Ace Voice Artiste).

They will also be sending attendees to a studio to audition and if you get good reviews you'll get a callback. To register, call Jean on 07055567725
Hear Word, which I mentioned briefly here starts showing this weekend, today to be precise. Some members of the cast who are Thespian Legends, Joke Silva, Ireti Doyle and Taiwo Ajayi-Lycett actually went to Mushin market and staged a performance. It'll be showing next weekend too and it'll be showcasing true stories from 20 Nigerian Women.
Sunday, the 25th of May is the Last Sunday in May so Live Theatre on Sunday will be happening. It happens every Last Sunday of the month, it's free and it's organised by someone I worked with at the ad agency I mentioned earlier on, Sola Adenugba. This month's play is called The Engagement and there are 2 shows 4:00 and 5:30, all the details are on the poster above. I spoke briefly about my experience at the Last one I attended in March and you can read about it here.
Two of my friends from Uni, Emeka Akano and Chinedu Onyeaso started a company with some other people called Entarado. They were actually featured in this month's Forbes Africa Magazine as seen in the picture above. The event is called Founder 2 Be and it's aimed at entrepreneurs, business owners, aspiring entrepreneurs, investors and techies who are looking for people with complimentary skill sets to partner with. It's free, it's happening at Oriental from 4 to 7, click here to register and here to check out their facebook page.
The event you must attend is Band Aid because i'm going to be playing the sax and acting during the 6pm show at Terra Kulture. This is the third time I've mentioned it on this blog so if you aren't aware then you haven't been reading. I did a little review here, it's produced by Majmua Theatre; follow them on twitter so you can get updates on their activities.

That's all for now folks.

Please don't just sit at home watching TV all weekend, go out and live a little.

Have a Good Weekend!!!

    1. Awww, Thanks, she's my favourite too. I saw her play live at Jesus House Brent Cross a few Summers ago but I was too star struck to go talk to her. Are you musically talented in any way? I'm in the UK for a few days this Summer, we can meet up, I play and you cook :D What songs would you like to hear me play?
