Restaurant Review: Peppercorn Avenue Lekki

Peppercorn Avenue is a New-ish Fusion Restaurant in Lekki that serves Thai and Indian food.

I went there with some of my family members on a Sunday evening and was looking forward to the experience as I really love thai food.

I've only had Thai in Lagos once, at Orchid House in Apapa, it was so good, check out my review of it here!

Peppercorn Avenue is at 6A Otunba Adedoyin Ogungbe Street, Off Admiralty Way. It is in a building with many floors, but the restaurant is only on the ground floor. There is a nice windy walkway which reminds me of the yellow brick road in wizard of Oz.

We were given complimentary Indian Crisps with mint sauce, sweetened yoghurt and tamarind sauce.

I wasn't a fan of any of the sauces so asked for sweet chilli sauce which went perfectly.

I bumped into Alex of Nappy Haired, she loved the tamarind sauce and so did my fiancé. Check out her review of the restaurant here.
Thai spring rolls in lagos
We ordered vegetable spring rolls, chicken spring rolls, chilli garlic naan and chicken dumplings as our starter.
Chicken Thai Spring Rolls
The spring rolls weren't what I expected, they were quite oily and the pastry was thick unlike the delicious one I had at Chaophraya.
Sweet Chilli Sauce & Thai Spring rolls
The Garlic Chilli Naan was really good.

The dumplings were okay, the pan fried one tasted significantly better than the steamed one.
Thai Dumplings
The fillings for the dumpling and spring roll had an overwhelming flavour, like the maggi was too much.

For our mains, we got the pad thai, pineapple fried rice, red curry, green curry and plain jasmine rice.
Thai red curry in lagos
The red curry was actually yellow, I'm not a huge fan of curries with coconut milk as a base.

We got the red curry with chicken and the green curry with Prawns.

The prawns were way overcooked but the chicken was nicely seasoned and cooked to perfection tbh.
Pad thai noodles
I actually liked the pad thai but wasn't a huge fan of the pineapple fried rice.

It looked great like the one I had at blowfish but I really only like it for aesthetic purposes, I tend to like rice with some sort of spice.

The service was good, our waiter was pleasant and attentive.

Will I go there again if I'm craving good thai food? Not really. I might go back to try out some of the dishes we didn't order though, like the Chicken suya-like street food that Eat Drink Lagos wrote about and one Chicken Basil dish.

I hear the Indian is better but I don't really like Indian food so I wouldn't go back to try it. The pricing is fair for a nice restaurant in Lekki.
