My Simple Skincare Routine + a Cookie Skin Giveaway

Hey Guys

How are you? Eku Fuel Scarcity o, Nawa :)

This is my 50th post of the year and the Blog just hit 150,000 views, Thank you for visiting my blog and commenting and sharing, I appreciate it!

I woke up 2 weeks ago with the hugest zit on the right side of my face. I had been slacking with my skincare routine, not cleaning my face with make up wipes so I immediately got to work.

I do this thing where I try to punish myself when I lose something but then I inevitably suffer for it.
There was one time I lost 3 satin bonnets in a short time period, and at that point I was buying 1 for N1,500 so I punished myself and didn't get a new one for another 2 months, forgetting I was damaging my hair as it was rubbing against cotton.

In this case, I  lost my make up wipes so I said I won't buy another one when I knew there was a half pack somewhere in the house, I just needed to look hard for it.  When I saw that I had started breaking out and getting zits that were bigger than any I ever had, I quickly forgot about the punishment and bought a new pack of wipes.  I had also been slacking with my skincare routine so I got back to following it.
After a day of everyday make up (eyebrows, concealer, eyeliner, mascara and lip gloss/lip pencil), I clean my face with Huggies Baby Wipes. I bought the Huggies pack of 64 for N490 at 3mat in Dolphin but I just found it at Okoli, also in Dolphin for N350.

I scrub my face with the Simple Kind to Skin smoothing facial scrub about once a week or anytime I have used foundation. I bought my simple scrub from 3mat for N950, do you know anywhere else in Lagos where Simple facial products are sold?
I cleanse my face with the Kind to Skin Vital Vitamin Foaming cleanser, I only have a third of it left. I haven't really used the pore minimising toning cleanser but I know some people alternate between the 2, I prefer the foaming one, have you tried any?
Next step is to moisturise my face with the Hydrating light moisturiser. I use any good sun screen when I'm going to be in the Sun as I don't want to get burnt. I was recently gifted the Cookie Skin SPF 20 Body Lotion which so many people rave about but I haven't used much of it because my skin doesn't really need brightening, it is perfect the way it is.

Leslie, the owner of Cookie Skin gifted me the products below and I'm giving away the "Tri-Active Brighten & Protect Day Fluid" and the "Whitening + Acne Serum" to 2 lucky readers. I met Leslie at the Pandora Mother's Day Brunch and I had read about her in the first edition of the Savvy & Chic Magazine, she was the cover girl.

  6. I used to be loyal to Body Shop Tea Tree line, but in the past few months, I've used Sebamed soap for my face and some Neutrogena face moisturizer (or is it Clean and Clear). What I need to do more of is drink water and wash my face at night.

  7. Tuke will the whitening+acne serum not make someone's skin whiter? I'm light skinned but I'm scared of lightening/whitening product. You can get Simple products on jumia, saw it there. Is Simple product for dry skin?

  9. I've been thinking about how my skin needs serious attention. Problem is most good products are pretty expensive. For example, how much is cookies skin? Sure it's on the high side. Just waiting to discover a natural means of skin care that's effective and affordable :)

    1. Yeah, cookie skin is pretty expensive, about 8k per bottle but there are brands like simple and clean & clear which are really affordable, many people swear by Dudu osun too

  11. I use Cookie skin DR complexion day lotion SPF50, DR Tri active brighten and protect day fluid, DR brighten and anti aging serum, DR nourishing whitening cream. I use them just as it was recommended on the Cookie skin website.

The products made my skin smoother and younger looking. it did not make my skin lighter in any way and I have been using the product since August. i.e 2 months now.

So, I will say that its a product range that's great for repairing damaged skin just like they say on their website. With time, the product could lighten you but you will only be about half a shade lighter not white or Oyinbo at all. Its definitely not for bleaching. If you want to be very yellow, its not the product for you.
Its not for bleaching it just to give you the best skin you can ever have.

Team cookie skin all the way.
My favourite is the completion day lotion SPF50. I have never seen a sunscreen that is translucent and gentle on application until I used Cookie skin.
    its the best.
