How i'm feeling at the moment

So, I don’t think this blog is making as much progress as I would like it to, especially when compared to other blogs that have been running for over a year or more. I would like more views, more comments, a wider reach, more subscribers and more followers.

I know Rome wasn’t built in a day and building a followership ain’t easy but this is taking forever and I sometimes get discouraged. I have 5 word documents open, waiting to be edited but the ginger isn’t really there. I need my writing mojo back, sigh, didn’t think it would hit me this early.

I gotta pick myself up and keep on writing though. Like Ofili said at the Writers conference, just keep at it, hit publish, some will be hits and some will be misses.

I tend to share my posts on social media after publishing, not gonna share this one though. I’ll probably take it down soon but that’s how I’m feeling about le blog atm.
Bleurghhh

Oh, yeah, Gidi up Season 2 was launched online today. I've watched all four episodes already, Love em!

I really don't watch TV, only channel 165 and the one thing I actually make sure I watch is Dowry.

What a weird post this was.

I need to edit an article for a website I love and I'm tired of reading over it and trying to make it perfect. I'll probably feel better when I'm done with it.

Oh, well, back to word.

I'm sure it doesn't help that I haven't defined the niche of my blog yet, it's a mix of many random things at the moment.

My mum's calling,

Gotta go

Shalom

  1. I can totally relate with your post and how you are feeling.

Sometimes I pretend comments doesnt matter but it does...it gives you a feeliing of fulfillment / exhilaration when people read your works and you just want to go on and on. For me, it is one hobby I love whether people make me feel good or not so I don't think I'm going to stop.

Take Ofili's advise...keep writing, keep hitting publish. Even when nobody reads or post comments, just keep going.

A vital way to get some followership is to be a 'follower' yourself...one good turn...and what goes around...

Read other people's writings and leave comment, then watch what happens...Some would not get down from their high horses to return the favor and some will...

    Just keep going.

    1. Thank you for the advice and tips, i appreciate them and would put them to practise.

Even though I get comments from people on facebook or when we see them in person, I would like to see more on the blog too to be honest.

I don't think I'll stop any time soon either.

I'm grateful for the people that have supported, are supporting and those that are yet to come.

Added you on google plus btw, going to check out your blog :)

  3. Hi Toke. I feel the same way some times. But you just have to remember its what you love to do! Soon enough your passion for it would attract more people. You might think you arent making much impact but believe me there are people out there who love what you do. Doesnt matter if they aren't so many.

My blog is not where i'd like it to be yet, but I constantly remind myself why I started it and I dont get too many comments on the blog but lots of people have reached out to me telling me how much they love what I do and for them (no matter how few they are) and for me, I'll keep going.

You can find your niche on social platforms and relate with bloggers who have blogs just like yours (same theme). You'd be amazed how many readers they could fetch you. Also remove this word verification. It discourages people from making comments

  4. Lape is right about the word verification and I totally get where you are coming from about the comments and the number of hits but that doesn't bother me. I love what I do and am happy doing it, that's all that matters. I am following you on gfc right now, hope you follow back.
