Weekend Gist:Steph Obi Workshop & An Impromptu Jam Session

Hi Guys,

How are you?

How was your week?

How is the Christmas prep going?

It kinda sucks that I can't be as active on here as I used to be but I make up for it by posting on Instagram A loooot more. I joined Periscope too and I love it, been recording gigs and rehearsals live!

So Last Week Friday, I stopped by at Ginger Tapas & Grill after work because my producer was playing there. His Band is called the Wole Pataki Jazz Band.

Once he saw me he was like "Where is your sax? Go & Get it!" I almost always have my Sax & Mic with me, it's important to move around with the tools of your trade & I'm sure I've mentioned it in one of my vlogs :)

I ended up jamming with him and his band for almost an hour.

His wife joined in at some point, her voice is Powerful :)

There was a time that this soundtrack was many people's ringtone/callback tune. Well, she sang it :)

I think it's really cool that her and her husband are in the same industry/ministry. That's why you gotta pray and seek counsel before you marry your boo, he's gotta be the one that will support you to fulfill your purpose.
We played my single, Trust. I always Love playing it live. That's what I played at TedX Gbagada. You can listen to it on Soundcloud or get it off iTunes if you haven't listened to it before. Mr Wole played the Bass, Drums, Guitar and produced it while I did all the horns. So if you're in need of a producer he is your guy.
I didn't go for the experience because I had a busy weekend ahead and I needed to be fully awake and energised to reap the true benefit of my investment. However you can read my recap of the 2013 one here and the 2014 here.
On Saturday I attended Stephanie Obi's Workshop, read her recap of it here. The group picture at the top was taken during lunch and I love it. I chose this picture of her because it shows her in her element. She has sooo much energy and is really full of life, she's got a great voice too!
There was a nice array of choices for lunch but I didn't get a picture of it because I was HUNGRY. I, however, got some nice pictures of our dessert.
Ferrero Rocher, Maltesers, Whipped Cream, Chocolate Cake and Strawberries, Yummy!! It was made by @lindaesuabana on Instagram.
I'm not going to tell you what I learnt at the workshop but it was revolutionary and you'll see my brand transform in due time. If you were unable to attend, it was recorded and you can watch it here. Let me know what you think. I'm sure you'll get many aha moments :)

After the Workshop, I stopped by at the Centro Mall because my Muson People had a Jazzy Christmas Concert there. I got there when they were packing up but it was nice to see my peeps. My last stop for the night was a Dinner at Villa Medici in VI. I had a Prawn salad as my starter and it was really nice. Smoked Salmon in saffron sauce as my main, wasn't a fan of the sauce but I love the Ambience at Villa Medici. Haven't been there since I was younger, I shall definitely go there again :)

On Sunday, I went to Church then had a 5 hour meeting with my manager then one of my friends from Uni slept over after attending MTN Corporate Elite.

I edited over 200 pictures for work too. There was no time to go for the Food Fiesta Festival but from the pictures I saw it looked like a Fun event. Did any of you go for it?

How was your weekend?

Oh yeah, I wore a chilled white shirt from Matalan, I had on a Pink Blazer (the one from this post) but I took it off because the weather was hot. I rocked my favourite jeans from Bershka as seen here. I've missed Style Posts mehn.

    1. Thank you Shalom!
With Michael Jackson there is a greater likelihood of collaborating on work matters like Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie. I'm not saying it's necessary to marry someone in your industry but it definitely has it's perks and cons too.
