Restaurant Review: Pearl Garden

 Happy New Year Folks!

Are you excited for 2015? I sure am!

I've been compiling my list of goals and resolutions for the year. I'm still not done yet but you'll find out when it's ready. One thing that's going to happen is a new blog layout and a logo too so if you have anyone to recommend, do let me know. I really want to do more collaborations too, creative ones like the one with Aima's, blogger ones like the one with Mide, brand ones like the one with The Kinky Apothecary and any other collaboration's that fit in with my blog ethos.

We always have lunch/dinner with my dad's side of the family on New Year's day. When I was younger, we went to Ocean view a lot and the great thing was that they had a playground so we could burn all our energy there. I don't know that many restaurants in Lagos with a large enough compound for the children to play so if you do know any, please let me know.

We went to pearl garden, which is a really popular Chinese Restaurant in Victoria Island. It's on Tiamiyu Savage which is the street that's got Ocean Basket, Terra Kulture and Multi Choice. It's off Olosa Street where L'espace is. We actually went there 2 years ago for New Year's Day Lunch, so much has changed in my family, babies have been born, people have gotten married, a lot of growth has happened which is good.

My stacked up plate

We started off with some chicken sweet corn soup, you can never go wrong with that, it was delicious. We also had some spring rolls, the vegetable one and the prawn mayo one, I think they make the best Prawn Mayo Spring Rolls in Lagos, anyone disagree?
When in doubt, go with Chapman, it's pretty hard to screw that up and they didn't.
Butterfly prawns are always yummy, the biggest prawns I've had in Lagos were at Boat Club, so Delicious, OhMaGosh!

Singapore Fried Noodles for the win, perfect mix of spices, vegetables and meat.

Special Fried Rice
Shredded Beef
Chilli Prawns were delicious
Sweet and Sour Fish, I didn't try it though, thought it was pork and I don't like sweet and sour sauces
My first time having Lemon Chicken in Lagos, it wasn't the greatest. The best lemon chicken I've had was in Surrey, while doing my A-levels, you know I love my tang
I really enjoyed this dinner and I hope you enjoyed New Year's day too. How did you spend yours? Have you set your goals/made your resolutions yet? If yes, share them with me, I want to know!
