My 5 Favourite Hair Products & A Hair Talk

Hey Guys,

Long time, No Hair Post. Well, here's one for you :)

So remember how in this post, I told you I spoke about Natural Hair at an Event at Unilag, well, I finally got the pictures, Yayyy :)

After the Talk and Q n A, I was told on the spot to style someone's hair and the girls were split into groups to imitate what I did.
I styled her in a really simple way, similar to what I did in the 2 minute updo video.
Her hair texture was really nice, she has been natural all her life.
I got interviewed by someone from Unilag All stars and then the girls came to the front for me to judge, hehe
The first girl to the left won the challenge as her team members interpreted what I did most accurately.
I liked her Mohawk sha and I think her facial features are really pretty
I showed them how I use tights to do my puff, will you like a tutorial?
This is me with the organiser of the event, Ellen Affah :)
I've been loving these Five Products lately:
Olori Deep Conditioning Treatment which I reviewed in this post.
The Kinky Apothecary Whipped Shea Butter that I mentioned in this post. I've run out though and their stockist near me has been closed for the longest time. I Love Ceecee's Curls whipped butter too but she's based in Abuja. Check out reviews of it here, here and here. They both have a Similar texture and smell delicious. I plan to try out a new brand of whipped shea butter this month and will let you know my thoughts on it  :)
This 2 in 1 Shampoo, it moisturises and clarifies at the same time so simplifies my wash day process. When my hair has been in protective styling or my scalp is dirty, I used to start off with a Clarifying Shampoo then a moisturising one, now I just use this one.
Kinky Curly Knot Today Leave in Conditioner. So many Naturalistas swear by this product e.g Oyime. I tried it for the first time when my Aunty styled my hair and I love what it does to my curl pattern.
The Lotta Body Edge Control. I only tried this out because I read the Kink and I's review and I wanted to see if it would work for me. Yes, Yes, Yes, it works :)

Naturalistas & Non-Naturalistas, what are your favourite hair products & why?

  1. This is really helpful. I value your reviews, so I'll take your word for it. I love being natural, but it gets so overwhelming sometimes also considering my hair length. Most times out of confusion for what product to use and why I should even use it sef, I end up making so with home made products by moi. Lol. Works too!

    1. Awww, Thank you Chioma :D
I haven't tried making products myself, I don't like eating egg or mayo or avocado or banana so I don't really want my hair to have food stuff in it.
It can get overwhelming because there are sooo many products available but my advice is to try products, know what works for your hair and stick to it!

    1. Oh, nice, I'm sure the evening one was packed, but I had many other things to do that day so the morning session was best for me :D
I actually haven't tried any African Naturalistas product & I didn't love the Cantu Leave in, gave half of the tub to my friend.
I haven't tried Beatiful textures leave in but I tried one of their curl puddings.

  8. Loool, of course there are. There is no sign saying the products are for females only. I know a guy that uses Jamaican Black Castor Oil to grow his beard, hehe
